Historical Event on 11/23/1926

Sir Jagadish Chandra Bose, Indian plant physiologist and physicist, passed away. He investigated the properties of very short radio waves, wireless telegraphy and radiation-induced fatigue in inorganic materials. His physiological work involved comparative measurements of the responses of plants exposed to stress. His invention of highly sensitive instruments for the detection of minute responses by living organisms to external stimuli enabled him to anticipate the parallelism between animal and plant tissues noted by later bio-physicists.á

11/21/1961Communist China announced a cease-fire in its border war with India and said it would withdraw its troops 12 miles behind the boundary lines that existed in 1959.
