Sidharth Randeria
Born in Mumbai on 17 December 1955, son of Professor Madhukar Randeria (Jai hind college) a renowned writer, poet and pioneer of modern Gujarati theatre.
Started acting with Indian National Theatre's Children plays during his schooling years.
Took part in plays for All India Radio from the age of 9 years.
Participated in inter-college drama competitions held by Mumbai University, INT, IPTA, etc. and won several best actor awards.
Worked as a Production Asst. For the Gujarati section of Mumbai Doordarshan Kendra during 1975.
His career on the professional stage started in 1974. When he acted in plays directed by the esteemed late Pravin Joshi, namely
Santu Rangili (Tee Phulrani),
Jooth bole kaua kate with Paresh Rawal and
Vairi (co- staring Arundhati Rao and Shankar Nag)
Over the years he has acted in and directed over 75 full length plays like:
Gurubramhma (Shafi Inamdar), Mantra Mugdha (Mohan Vagh, Mahesh Manjrekar) Mahamaanav (Kanti Madia), Savita Damodar Paranjape, Cheel Zadap (Rima Lagoo), Natsamraat (V.V Shirvadkar).
He is the only actor-director of Gujarati stage to have given more than 15 consecutive Hit plays, each crossing 300 shows.
The only actor to achieve the distinction of completing 10,000 performances in his career spanning 35 years.
His drama "Lage Rhaho Gujjubhai" has set a new record on Gujarati theatre by completing 700 shows in a span of 3 years.
After that, series of Gujjubhai is getting massive response from all over the Gujarati World.
Currently (In September 2015), Gujjubhai is rocking in All cinemas and multiplexes with his first super comedy urban movie named Gujjubhai The Great.
