How to get a CA state ID card



ICA state DMV office issues two types of ID card. One is a regular ID card which will be valid for six years and another one is senior citizen ID card which will be valid for 10 years.  

 

To apply and get an ID card, you must

·        Make an appointment and visit the DMV office.

·        Submit the completed original DL 44 or DL 44C form.

·        Give you thumb print and picture will be taken.

·        Provide your legal presence and date of birth.

·        Social security  number must be provided.

·        Application fees should be paid.

 

Before leaving the DMV office, check whether your address is correct and your new state ID card will be mailed to you within 60 days.
