Hi guys! We (me and my husband) recently moved to Camarillo (near Thousand Oaks, CA) and were interested in meeting up with Indians in the area. I am not sure if any Indians live here, since I have seen such few Indians so far!

I just saw your post, we live in Camarillo and I trust your family is settled in by now. My wife Ramaa and myself have been in Camarillo since 1999 (about 22 years)

Hello Anjini, I moved to Camarillo recently with my family as well. It would be nice to meet Indians in the area. Let me know if you were able to find any social groups. Thx

Hi AnjiniThanks for the post. Since this was posted couple of months. Do you have more information to share? I am pretty close to accepting a job offer from a company based out of Camarillo. I would like to know more about the place, general services and Indian community in general. Also, which is the better place to stay- Camarillo or TO or anywhere else nearby-. Please do kindly reply as I have to make a decision keeping in mind my family that includes a 2 year old kid.

Hi! Glad to hear that you guys are moving to Camarillo. I dont know of any housing in this town that have a lot of Indians, but if you plan to live here, Amli Spanish Hills are a great option (thats where we live). You can also look for housing in Thousand Oaks; I know Hillcrest Park Apartments have Indians in them, since it is really close to Amgen, however I have heard of really bad reviews for them. Alternatively Avalon and Eaves Thousand Oaks and Avalon Mission Oaks (in Camarillo) are great apartment complexes too and at-least the Avalon Thousand Oaks should have some Indians. There are several others like Allure Camarillo (we found them okay) and Monarch at Dos Vientos (not too bad, we saw not too good reviews of the Management there however). There are many others like these, but wont find independent owner owned apartments however and any actual houses might be quite expensive. The area (both TO and Camarillo) is really nice overall and quite scenic and safe, you will need a car though for going anywhere. They have two temples here (we are yet to visit them) and at-least 1 Indian association (India Friends Association) that I know so far (they do activities occasionally, but I havent been to any yet). Do let me know if you have guys have any other questions about the area or any apartment homes you might be looking at and if you need any help once you guys are here. All best for the move!

Hi Anjini, me and my wife would be moving to Camarillo next month. We are looking for housing where we have Indians. Could you please provide some insights of this area and the better housing places where we have some Indian community. Appreciate your help
