Madame Bhikaji Rustom Cama, mother of the Indian Revolution, was born in Bombay. From an early age she took interest in social and political work.

8/1/1905Horse drawn tram cars were closed down in Bombay. This service was started on May 9, 1874 with 20 tram cars and 200 horses. The very first day of its run, the number of passengers carried was 451 and the amount earned was Rs. 85/- on the last day it had 1360 horses and carried 71,947 passengers and earned Rs.4,260/.
4/7/1818British Government imposed 'State Prisoners Regulation III -1818' for detention and deportion of political prisoners and revolutionaries without any trial. This black act was in force till 1947 when India got independence.
